our story
Why This Exists
Two lifelong friends kept running into the same wall — where do you actually find things worth supporting?
So we built this. Siren Song Shop is a small, slow, personal directory — the kind of place where every pick is something we'd share with our favorite people. Free from algorithms, ads, and paid placements, it's a space for discovery and connection, where trust is earned one recommendation at a time.
We hope it's useful to many — but if it helps even one person connect with a great local shop, find a gift that really hits the mark, or discover a maker they love, then that's more than enough for us.
How Curation Works
No committees. No shortcuts. Just deliberate, human curation.
-
Discover
We find things through lived experience: shops, events, makers, and spaces we actually use, visit, and trust.
-
Vet
Every pick is checked against our standards: plant-based, independent, and community-rooted.
-
Recommend
Only what we would confidently hand to a close friend makes the list. No paid placements, no filler.

Quick FAQ
Are these recommendations paid or sponsored?
Never. Every pick is something we genuinely use, love, or would confidently give as a gift. No affiliate pressure, no sponsored placements — just honest taste.
How do you choose what makes the cut?
We look for things with a real story behind them — independent makers, considered craft, and products that hold up over time. If we wouldn't recommend it to a close friend, it doesn't appear here.
How often is new content added?
Slowly and intentionally. We'd rather have a shorter list of things we truly believe in than a long one padded with noise. New guides and picks are added when they've earned their place.
Are your recommendations vegan-friendly?
Yes. We prioritize shops that support vegan products, and we call out shops that are 100% vegan. We avoid farm or pet-focused picks unless they are clearly animal-protection aligned (for example, sanctuary, rescue or rehabilitation efforts).
I know a shop that would be a great fit — can I suggest it?
Absolutely, please do. Whether you're a maker who'd like to be considered, or you just want to pass along something you love, we'd genuinely love to hear about it. Reach out through our contact page and tell us a little about the shop.
